Orienteering club "Perkunas" history
Orienteering club "Perkunas" was established at 16th May 1990. Address: Filaretu 17, 2007 Vilnius, Lithuania. Ph. 370 2 254632, 254585, fax – 370 2 220149. Club is member of Lithuanian orienteering federation (LOSF). Number of club' members - 60 (aprox.), 80 percents members are 18-35 years old. About 50 percents are active sportsmans. From 1992 club is organizing of 3 days international orienteering event "Vilnius". Event is being executed every year at May in regions around Vilnius city. 500-800 runners and sport activists took participation in "Vilnius" event.
Club athletes as Lithuanian national team members take participation in World championships, World Cups, junior championships. The best results in international events: Nerijus Sulcys – 1998 ski-orienteering vice-champion, Ramune Arlauskiene and Jolanta Vosyliute-Sulciene – 6th place in relay at 1998 ski-orienteering championship. OK " Perkunas " - Lithuanian club Cup winner at 1993, 1995, 1996., 1997, 1998, 1999, multiple Lithuanian OS champion.
