2004 m. Lithuanian MTB-O championships in long distance and sprint

INVITATION

 

I.                   GOAL AND TASKS

First Lithuanian MTBO championship is organized to make this kind of sports more popular, to attract more participants, to increase competition in this orienteering sport discipline, to motivate sportsmen to improve their skills, to prepare for international competitions, to find out the strongest sportsmen.

II.                DATE, PLACE, ORGANIZERS

Championship is organized by Lithuanian orienteering sport federation (LOSF) and conducted by OK Perkūnas.

Competitions are conducted according to LOSF certified competition rules and requirements for LOSF competition organizers and „Competition Rules for IOF MTB-O Events, 2004“.

IV.              COMPETITORS

Competitions are individual. Citizens of the Republic of Lithuania can participate in competitions.

Non Lithuanian Republic citizens can participate but they compete only for prizes, not for the champion title and medals.

V.                 TERRAIN, COURSES, MAPS

Dense network of paths. There are high and dangerous slopes up to 50 m.

Sprint map - scale 1:10000, contour interval 5 m.

Long distance map - scale 1:15000, contour interval 5 m.

All maps are special maps for MTBO.

Predicted winning time in sprint 20-30 min, in long distance: men 90-110 min., women 70-90 min.

VI.              CLASSES, START LISTS

Competitors compete in classes: D16, D20/ 21, D40, H16, H20/ 21, H40

Competitors in classes D20, 21 and H20, 21 in both competitions are in the same start lists and have the same courses. There will be joint results for classes D20, 21, H20, 21 and also separate results for classes D20, H20.

Competition start lists will be made by drawing lots.

There will be group of strongest sportsmen in classes D, H21 (H21- 8 sportsmen, D21-4). The strongest sportsmen are decided by MTBO committee of LOSF according to results in years 2003 and 2004. In both events this group will be in the end of start list.

Number of competitors is not limited in all classes and events.

VII.           RESULTS AND AWARDS

Individual competitors places are decided according to the time needed to complete the course.

In all classes each event individual race winners will be given the title of Lithuanian MTBO champions year 2004.

In classes D21, H21 winners of first 3 places are awarded with medals, diplomas and prizes, for 4-6 place winners - diplomas.

In classes D16, D20, D40, H16, H20, H40 winners of first 3 places are awarded with medals, diplomas, winners with prizes.

Coaches that prepared Lithuanian champions in classes D20, D21, H20, H21 are awarded with diplomas.

VIII.        COMPETITORS ACCEPTANCE CONDITIONS

Competition is conducted by orienteering sport club according to agreement with LOSF. For covering part of championship conducting expenses all participants pay entry fee (15 Lt/per day) plus 3 Lt SPORTident rent fee for 1 day. It is also possible to participate with own SI card without paying rent fee.

Sportsmen and coaches food, accommodation and trip expenses are covered by sending organization or sportsmen themselves. More information about competition place, accommodation conditions, entry fee payment, etc. in club conducting competition or LOSF headquaters 1 month before the competition.

IX.              ENTRIES

Preliminary nominal entries, indicating name, surname, class, year of birth, club, number of personal SI card, are presented to organizing club till 26 July (Monday). Nominal entries, confirming sportsman membership in the club, are presented to the secretariat in the competition place.

Participants late to present preliminary entry until indicated date can be allowed to participate (if there are free places) when paid organizers determined penalty fee (50% of entry fee or 100% if entering on the competition day) when registering. For entered but not participated competitors club must pay up to 50% of entry fee.
