    The company "Marijampoles statyba" has developed from Marijampole regional Construction Office No 24 and in 45 years it often changed its subordination and name, the latest being Marijampole State Construction Works.

 

    We have the certificate No. 0348 which was granted by the Ministry of Environment of the Republic of Lithuania. The certificate allows our corporation to carry out designing of the structure part, general and special construction work, carry out technical maintenance of the building construction. Categories of structures: specific structures. Structure groups: dwelling, public utility, industrial, buildings of energetics and other economic activity, engineering network, means of communications - places of automobile, railway, air transport and pedestrian traffic, valuable of real cultural heritage. Spheres of designing work: architectural, constructional. Spheres of construction work: general construction work; special construction work: work of mechanics - water pipe-line of buildings and exterior and sewage disposal, heat and hot water production and supply, heating, ventilation; electrical engineering work - electric power supply, transformation, distribution, illumination, control, automation, telecommunications; construction arrangement work of real cultural heritage.

    On the 8th of December, 1999 and on the 18th of January, 2000 "Marijampoles statyba" was granted qualification certificates No 15 100 9694 and No 15 104 0018 by International Quality Audit Company "TUV CERT", Germany, notifying that joint-stock company "Marijampoles statyba" has introduced quality control system EN ISO 9001 and environmental management system EN ISO 14001 and operates following the requirements in these spheres: designing of constructions, construction, repairs, reconstruction; designing, preservation and restoration of cultural heritage; installation of interior and exterior engineering networks, arrangement of surroundings. Only international quality certificates are acknowledged worldwide. Thus, the receiving of these certificates, endowed the efforts of managers, specialists and consultants of the company. The results of quality management system are mostly evident not in the documents recording quality management procedures but at construction sites that have been/ or are being built by constructors of Marijampole.

 

    In 1998 Valdas Zigmanta, general director of "Marijampoles statyba", was awarded the Fifth Degree Order of Gediminas by the Government of the Republic of Lithuania for the outstanding achievements in developing construction projects.

    The company is a member of the Association of Construction Workers of Lithuania and one of the biggest construction companies in Suvalkija and Kaunas region. At the moment the company can carry out large scale and complex construction, remodeling and restoration projects of cultural heritage.

 

    The company employs about 200 workers. Most of them are highly qualified specialists in the field having long-term experience in construction. All management top specialists have university degrees and managers of construction units " special certificates. The company encourages its employees to seek higher qualification by paying for their participation in courses and seminars.

    "Marijampoles statyba" has a substantial material basis. It has mastered the most progressive technologies and uses modern materials. The company seeks new forms of quality works organization and puts into practice the international regulations of safe environment and quality management.

 

    The joint-stock company is the first in the country to produce modern chimneys, licensed in Germany, that save heat and are fireproof. They can be used for all kinds of fuel " solid, liquid or gas and can be installed in a new building as well as in reconstructed one. These chimneys are constructed to work for boilers, fire-places and ventilation together. Assembled of expanded clay blocks containing a fire-clay tube inside and detached by isolation wool such chimneys are easy to clean. Besides, blocks are made to fit the parameters of the boiler.

 

    Our company also produces metal and steel frameworks and joinery products.
The whole share capital of "Marijampoles statyba" is private. Today the company has facilities to carry out a volume of works for 50-60 million Litas annually.

 

    Constructions of "Marijampoles statyba" dominate in Suvalkija region. During its existence the company has built about 200 different buildings (see the illustrations). These include almost all industrial enterprises in Marijampole town, cleaning facilities, schools, shops, blocks of flats, public buildings such as Marijampole Municipality building, Public Library, Sepulture House, Finance Inspection, Marijampole branch of Lithuania Commercial Bank. The most recent construction site is the community center. Some years ago Kalvarija Customs was completed. The latest and most significant works of the company are complex and very detailed restoration of Marion Monastery, St. Vincent Church, both of them have high architectural value, and Marijampole railway station " a representative site of the city. Now the company is engaged in restoring the Quarter No 1 of Motorized Infantry Unit named after the Great Duke of Lithuania Vytenis.

    Construction sites of "Marijampoles statyba" far exceed the limits of Suvalkija area. The constructors have restored the Monastery of St. Gertrude and the Administrative Court building of Kaunas district.  The Close Corporation "Marijampolės statyba" had restored the Former Residence of the President of Lithuania in Kaunas. This project won the competition "Lithuanian Product of the Year 2002". The building is located in the representational part of the Old-Town part of Kaunas, in the lot delimitated by three streets – Vilniaus, Gimnazijos and St. Gertrūdos. There is a large ordered square in the southern part of the lot. There are sculptures of the Presidents of interwar Lithuania in the square. The masonry building has two floors with arched basements. There are a lot of decoration elements in the main façade of the building. Window partitions are typical for buildings of that time. There are a lot of elements for preservation in the Residence. One of them is the basic wooden stairwell with decoratively carved parapets. The museum exposition takes almost a half of the first floor area. The memorial rooms are in the second floor near the museum exposition, namely, the former cabinet of the President A.Smetona and the conference hall. Interior of the hall was recreated according to the iconographical material.

 

  Reconstruction of M.K.Čiurlionis’ museum is other significant project of our company. We could accent one of constructional works of this building, i.e. the decoration of facades with Italian quarry tiles, which were hanged on the metal framework. There was no analogue case until now in Kaunas town.  Partitions of frameless glass in inner rooms, and the decorative basin are exclusive aesthetic constructional solutions in the museum.

 

  In 1995 our company had reconstructed the Small Animals Clinic of Lithuanian Veterinary Academy by the order of Doctor Leonas Kriaučeliūnas, who had lived in the USA. Total area of the building is 676,7 m2. We had equipped three operating-rooms, the X-Ray room, cages for small animals, and cold storages during reconstruction. Antistatic homogenous floor covering was laid in the operating-rooms. We had restored windows and doors, and also had painted facades. We had been following the veterinary principal for colors when we had been painting corridors and rooms, i.e. green and blue accents were presented.

 

  During period of 1998 to 1999 our company had been repairing the Central Hospital of Marijampolė. We had repaired these rooms: operating-rooms, the Admission Department and the Traumatic-Orthopedic Department. Besides, we had carried out repairs of the roof of the hospital.

 

  In September 2002 we had started reconstruction of the Heart Center of the Clinics of Kaunas Medical University (address: Eivenių str. 2, Kaunas, Lithuania). We are reconstructing the Diagnostics Department, the surgery block and the Reanimation Department.  A modern monitoring network is installed in the Center. The network will allow delivery of lectures for students directly from the operating-room. A progressive ventilation-conditioning system is installed in the operating-rooms. This system allows cooling of a patient to the required temperature during the heart operation. The system will warm the patient after completion of the operation. Reconstruction works are organized so, that the everyday work of the Reanimation Department and the operating-rooms would not be interrupted.

 

  In January 2003 the Close Corporation "Marijampolės statyba" had finished construction of the Children Clinic of Marijampolė (P.Kriaučiūno str., Marijampolė, Lithuania). The total area of the building is 2727,36 m2, and structural size is 12068,0 m3. The building has three floors. We had equipped the children clinic, the medical station, the Territorial Patient Chest, a room for the Social Expertise Commission of Marijampolė, and the stomatology clinic in the building.

 

  We use only eco-friendly and high-quality materials, which have certificates of conformity.

 

    In restoring a complex of buildings in the northern part of Kaunas Old Town, that used to be the property of St. Zita Society, the faculty of Theology of Vytautas Magnus University has been recently restored. This building was designed by architect F.Vizbaras and was erected in 1926. It contains the features of eclectic Classicism. Renovation of the interior, especially the hall, which is rich in gypseous mouldings, required thorough and highly qualified work. Some deteriorated parts of wall and ceiling décor and the parquet floor were renovated following authentic samples. The walls were painted polychromycally. The inner stairs with adorned banister made by a blacksmith were restored too. Both interior and exterior of the building were renovated following the methods of restoration.

    The original design and complex constructions of the restored buildings are preserved using modern technologies, materials and engineering equipment.

 

    In 2000 joint-stock company "Marijampoles statyba" expanded its work profile and started to build poles with base stations for mobile connection.

 

    Restoration, construction or reconstruction of each building raises a lot of issues, solution of which helps to preserve the image of our company as a successful and reliable contractor.
