| Vilnius Picture Gallery, 4 Didzioji, tel. 224134, 224258. The gallery was founded in 1994 in the renovated part of Chodkeviciai Palace, which was built in the early 17th - mid 19th centuries. 1956 - 1988 this exhibition was opened in the Vilnius Cathedral. In the Vilnius Picture Gallery one can see Lithuanian paintings, drawings, sculptures, petty plastics, plackets, medals, water colours and oil miniatures of the 16th - 19th centuries. Today Chodkeviciai Palace is a building of old classical shape with retained stucco mouldings and polychrome. In the Vilnius Picture Gallery in Chodkeviciai Palace exhibitions and musical performances are often held. |

In the museum there are sun, water, fire, sand and mechanic clocks, precise time measurement instruments of the 20th century. Visitors can see mechanic clocks of the Renaissance, baroque and classical styles. There is a sun clock and a bell carillon in the museum yard. Musical performances are often held in the museum. |

| The Amber Museum, Vytauto 17, Palanga, tel. 53501, 51319. Open Tuesday through Sunday 11 a.m. - 8(7) p.m. It was founded in 1963 in Tiskevicius Palace built in 1897. The Amber Museum exhibition reflects the history of amber in the context of Earth evolution. Samples of various fossil resin found in other countries and a unique inclusion collection can be found there. There is also a number of amber articles found in the graveyards of western Balts. Various amber articles from the 17th - 19th centuries, an amber workshop of the late 19th century and works by contemporary artists are exhibited in the museum. In the chapel of the palace temporary exhibitions are held. |
